Project overview
Updated: May, 2010
As part of the continuous effort to balance the needs of the Port, residential waterfront property owners, the community, First Nations and municipalities, Port Metro Vancouver is developing a Recreational Waterfront Management Plan and Implementation Strategy, resulting from a study that commenced in March 2008. The study area is limited to Burrard Inlet east of Second Narrows, Indian Arm (including Bedwell Bay) and Port Moody Arm.

The scope of the plan is limited to the long-term management of private recreational dock facilities, and includes strategic initiatives and guidelines for sustainable dock development. The plan also considers the existing marina inventory and future potential for marina development in the study area.
During the planning process, the Port will not be accepting applications for new residential recreational waterfront facilities. Once the management plan has been finalized, we will remove the suspension on applications and begin its effective administration.
Project status
Upon completion of a draft plan we will be meeting with stakeholders, communities and First Nations to discuss its implementation.
