Collaboration strengthens Port's environmental initiatives
Port Metro Vancouver's efforts to lead port industry in environmental innovation and sustainability are well evidenced through collaboration. Key initiatives include:
Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy
Port Metro Vancouver, in collaboration with the Port of Seattle and Port of Tacoma, and with support from Environment Canada, the U.S. EPA, B.C. Ministry of Environment, the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency and the Washington State Department of Ecology, developed the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy. The strategy includes emission reduction performance goals for port-related sources, and represents a cooperative effort amongst the three ports to improve air quality and reduce contributions to climate change in the shared Georgia Basin-Puget Sound airshed. Canada Place Shore Power Initiative
