Leadership Program

The Port’s Leadership Program began in 2004 with Delta Secondary and four high school students. Since then, the program has grown with the addition of more schools and students.

Students are given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and learn about the Port. They are required to complete 110 volunteer hours and we invite all students entering grades 10 and 11 to apply. At the end of their volunteer hours, they receive an honorarium.

Since the program began in 2004, we have had 58 students complete the Leadership Program from the following schools:

  • Delta Secondary  24 students
  • Britannia Secondary 15 students
  • Burnaby Central Secondary 9 students
  • Carson Graham Secondary 7 students
  • R.C. Palmer Secondary 3 students

For application information, please contact our Community Relations team. Please note: We are currently only accepting applications from the five schools listed above.

PMV’s Discovery Centre

Groups are invited to the Centre for a complimentary presentation about the history, business, environment and/or future of Port Metro Vancouver. Our presentations can be customized for a Grade 3 level up to business groups. The visits to the Centre are a great asset to teachers in support of their educational curriculum for field trips.
