Port Metro Vancouver and the 2010 Winter Games
The Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games will take place in Vancouver and Whistler from February 12 to March 21, 2010.
Standard operating procedures will be in place during the Olympics. Hosting the Games will necessitate some change to the normal operations of Port Metro Vancouver. The following information aims to advise port users of these changes, particularly access and security controls, cargo restrictions and traffic management.
During the 2010 Winter Games, Port Metro Vancouver will remain open for business.

Our Role
As the country’s largest and most diversified port, Port Metro Vancouver connects Canada with more than 130 trading economies. And as Official Supplier of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, we’re helping connect the Games to the world.
We will provide key spaces leading up to and during the 2010 Winter Games including space for the Main Press Centre at Canada Place, in addition to several other port properties for Vancouver 2010 operations.

Port Metro Vancouver's expertise and resources will play an important role in support of the 2010 Winter Games. We will work diligently to minimize any potential disruptions to business.
Our Partners
Port Metro Vancouver is working with security partners to ensure the safety of all port users during the 2010 Winter Games. We are reviewing all of our security measures and collaborating with the Vancouver 2010 Integrated Security Unit (V2010-ISU).
We are also working closely with Transport Canada and the Vancouver 2010 Surface Planning Committee, as well as key stakeholders, terminal operators, tenants and labour to coordinate port activities during the Games.
